India 2011 - Tigers II
A second trip to Sawai Madhopur and Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, once again perfectly hosted by Aditya and Poonam Singh and ably assisted by the inimitable Ramsingh and the rest of the crew at the Ranthambhore Bagh http://www.ranthambhorebagh.com/. I had missed my train in Delhi thereby arriving late in Sawai Madhopur, had an attack of "Delhi Belly" for the whole ten days, lost my wallet with all my cards including my return train ticket from London, and hence ran out of cash, and finished up with an attack of gout! Nobody seemed to be at all phased by any of this..... apart from me. Thank you all!
My guide was, for the second year, Ashlesh Sharma, who is the guy the other guides follow, and many say "is the best!". I agree. Without Ash, many of these shots just wouldn't have happened! Thanks Ash!
I should also thank Andy Rouse, for advising me to go to The Bagh last year, and for convincing me to bite the bullet and get the 200-400 F4, the difference in the quality of the images is stunning! Thanks Andy! (I bet that he never reads this...;-] )
Now I have to save for next year!

This male leopard came prowling past us and took us completely by suprise. If we had still been watching a Kingfisher in front of the jeep, we would have missed him, he was so quiet. Although leopards aren't rare, I think I'm right in saying that this is probably one of the most unusual shots I got.
