Dunnock. First go at a bird with the new lens (Nikon 200-400 F4). Taken well after sunset, it was almost dark!
Green woodpecker. Taken from upstairs window. What a handsome chap!
Heron on neighbours gazebo. It had just finished a good feed in another neighbours pond and landed here for a clean. This was taken as it spotted a Red Kite flying over.
Heron, taken a week after the previous photo. I thought he looked a bit scruffy last week and this photo shows considerable damage to one wing. Either something has attacked the bird or someone has taken a pot-shot at him. I have seen him leaving local fish ponds....
Greenfinch in my garden. It has a couple of small growths on its beak, I hope its not the desease which is affecting greenfinches throughout the UK.

It sat directly between me and the setting sun, all around it were a cloud of midges which show up on the photo looking like dust spots.
The bull with his back to the camera fancied his chances with the females in the pool but met his match with the resident male!
Grey seal pup, just a few days old, at Donna Nook. Just laying around, putting on weight, and posing for their ever adoring fans!
I concentrated on the muzzle because although the eyes are amazing black pools the nose is forever moving, investigating this new environment.

In a scene reminiscent of some ancient battlefield, two bloodthirsty young gulls rip open the carcass of a dead seal pup. While another pup sleeps innocently through the horror, and with scant regard for the feelings of the shocked female seal behind them, (probably the poor pups mother) they fight and tear at the corrupt corporeal remains of a once innocent creature! In the light of these new discoveries, we have to ask......Is this new behaviour about to explode onto an unsuspecting world??<br />

Bringing home the trout.
Except that he didn't. Male Osprey taken from about 330 metres at Rutland Water, he caught the very large trout, flew off around the nest then flew back to his favourite perch (no pun intended) and ate the whole fish. The females head can be seen at the nest.
Cuckoo at Rutland Water
A White Tailed Sea Eagle veering to avoid being mobbed. Yet to be confirmed, but I think the mobber was a Buzzard!
